Nature Conserv’Action works directly to conserve ecosystems that are unique in the world and located in biodiversity hotspots, as well as to protect threatened species, some of which are micro-endemic. These species face growing threats, even as resources are scarce in areas conserved by local communities.

OUR METHODS AND ACTIONS
Supporting the recognition and establishment of community-based conservation areas
We support local communities in establishing and obtaining official recognition for their conservation areas. Through assessments, biodiversity inventories, participatory mapping, administrative formalization, and networking, we enhance their visibility from the local to the international level.
Technical Support for the Management of Natural Areas and the Conservation of Endangered Species
By drawing on our expertise and collaborating with local researchers, we combine traditional knowledge with rigorous scientific approaches. Together with local communities, we co-develop conservation plans and support and evaluate the implementation of concrete actions to strengthen the conservation of threatened ecosystems and species.
Capacity Building Through a Participatory Approach
The synergies we create foster mutual learning and meaningful exchanges among local communities, conservation stakeholders, and academic researchers. We have developed methods to adapt scientific protocols and traditional conservation approaches to ensure the genuine participation of all relevant stakeholders. At every stage, these adjustments strengthen our partners’ skills and guide them toward mastering the tools, methods, and cross-cutting approaches that we design together.
Supporting and promoting the sustainable use of natural resources
By combining the expertise of our local partners with scientific findings and traditional knowledge, we support the sustainable use of natural resources. We provide information and structure initiatives focused on responsible hunting, the use of medicinal plants and non-timber forest products, sustainable agricultural practices, and the development of alternatives to deforestation. These alternatives generate income for communities, such as through scientific and community-based ecotourism, or by promoting local biodiversity as a marketing tool for sustainable agricultural production.
