We participate in working groups and international summits such as the COP on Biodiversity, and advocate for greater recognition of local communities’ self-governance and for the incorporation of scientific research. We are working to promote more equitable and inclusive North-South cooperation, as well as to strengthen collaboration among countries of the Global South.

In this way, we raise the profile of local communities committed to biodiversity, highlight the challenges they face, and strengthen their partnerships with the scientific research community.

To ensure sustainable and equitable biodiversity conservation, we advocate for:
1. More active collaboration between scientific research and communities committed to nature conservation
We build bridges between scientific research and local communities, which are often left on the sidelines of the research processes and findings conducted in their communities.
2. Recognizing communities as key and sovereign actors in the conservation of natural areas
Communities possess local and ancestral knowledge of ecosystems; this knowledge can and should inform research and conservation efforts. We believe that, to be effective and fair, the governance of conservation efforts must be led by the people who live in these areas.
3. Strengthening exchanges among countries in the Global South to promote solutions to shared challenges
We have developed a model for supporting conservation efforts by local communities that we believe can be replicated and adapted to a wide range of contexts. We aim to build bridges between local stakeholders (communities, researchers, universities, etc.) in various countries of the Global South to disseminate this conservation approach on a global scale.
